Al-Amaan Community Center

Amazing Community center that always promotes peace and understanding. Very knowledgeable Imam whose teachings are always comprehensive and insightful. Spotless clean establishment and facilities. Ample of parking and prayer room. Overall tremendous complement and treasure to the city of Minnetonka and neighboring suburbs. Weekly Friday prayers and lectures that are streamed live via zoom and YouTube. For those who chose to attend the prayers, strict health guidelines and social distancing measures are followed. Namely, everyone is required to have their temperature taken, to wear a mask and to have their own prayer rug as well as stand 6 feet away from other worshipers. Prayer spots are clearly marked to make sure adherence to those measures.

Conveniently located at juncture of Minnetonka, Eden Prairie and near Edina, Hopkins - Al Amaan is an Islamic Centre with lot of community work done here. Committee members are very warm and welcoming and Resident Scholar is easily available for any questions or concerns from any one across religion. Bridges for Peace is one of great multi religious event this centre holds, making this place accessible for people across spectrum.

Alhamdulillah since I met our dear Sheikh Jamal back in 2008 when Allah gave me undeniable signs to make a major U-Turn that’s when I first stumbled upon the Sheikh at another masjid in Eden Prairie. From there I was just hooked to all his talks that were shooting like arrows to this day n to the community leaders (especially brother Mohamoud) who welcomes everyone with open arms and warm smiles. Since then till now I have been strategizing to follow n stay close to this center, the community members, n to Sheikh Jamal who has broadened my understanding of Islam from Quran/Sunnah and how much effort he places to shower us with his knowledge n wisdom through so many various halaqas n programs that’s conducted on weekly basis along with the welcoming volunteers and community members that’s not found in many masjids or centers today. May Allah preserve them and reward them all for their hard work n sacrifices they put forth. Allahuma Ameen. All Praise belongs to Allah, I’m grateful n thankful to be part of this center n community who love to help one another thrive and do good work for our families, people, communities, animals, environment, and our plant.
